The "Veliar" band was founded by Oleg Mustets as "Black Legion" in 2000. In 2005 the name of the band was changed to "Veliar" and also changed its members. The first album which was named "Black Legion" and included 9 songs was recorded In 2007. In April 2008 the band recorded a demo, consisting of 8 songs (including 2 cover versions of Lack of Comprehension [Death] and Gilded Cunt [Cradle of Filth]). At the end of 2008 "Veliar" took part in the Black Metal Festival in Moscow and shared stage with such bands as Sinful, Crystal Abyss, Demons of Guillotine. The year 2009 the band began with a concert in Rostov-on-Don, Moscow fest "On the rise" - and several concerts with Apokefale, Demogorgon and Devoid of grace. On August 22 "Veliar" took part in the Belarusian Metal Crowd Fest 2009 held in Rechitsa, where shared the stage with groups from the CIS and neighboring countries. In the fall of 2010 the recording of the second album was started, mixing and mastering of which was completed in the spring of 2011 in Moscow CDM-Studio by Sergey Lazar (Arkona, Rossomahaar). The second album "In The Reflection Of Decayed World" was released in May 27, 2011. In late 2011, the band actually broke up and became the project of one musician. From the end of 2015 to the beginning of 2016, 10 new songs were recorded for the new album named "Through the Ages".
The third album of Russian black/death metal band VELIAR shows the development of the group in the direction of greater musical eclecticism, absorbing elements of thrash metal and melodic black metal, melodic death metal and even folk metal tunes. All this is interesting merged into a single fabric, so it's hard to compare it directly with someone. All music written and recorded by Oleg Mustets, but the highly artistic Russian-language lyrics were written by a visiting author (Demether of the Moscow bands Grailight, Arcanorum Astrum, Skylord) and tells the stories of the search for man's place in the universe, of human honor, human folly, denouncing religious obscurantism and unfair social institutions. Varied music and lyrics of the album are valuable of personality and hitting of each of the songs, as well as can attract the potential listener by beautiful art of Mayhem Art Studio.
