Gabriel Artina, drummer for OUIJA and former member of ATREXIAL and ABRAHEL, joins bassist Matt Brubacher and guitarist/vocalist Will Bedonow to form ABSOLUTISM. Based in Madrid, they unleash a mix of influences with the sole aim of creating fast and extreme tracks. They blend influences between grind and death and present the EP “Blasting Trilok I” (2021), a work of technical death metal with elements of grindcore, with a marked experimental character without forgetting elements of progressive metal, followed by the album “Asynchronous” (2023), an album recorded and mixed by Rick Murillo (Solo Sound, Hell Paso, in Texas), although mastered by Rubén Rodríguez in his Neburzone Studios (SINISTER, CENTINEX, HAEMORRHAGE, NOMINON, WOMBBATH or the Swedish SORCERY).

Changes in the lineup are not uncommon for a band that defines itself as "Fast, brutal, dissonant, atmospheric, and sharp Technical Death/Grind," and that is precisely the style and sound they develop on this "Stream Of Consciousness," where the latest additions of Gaspar Del Valle on bass and Emre Akan on vocals are now fully established. Therefore They deliver a new release of technical death metal, with elements of brutal death and shifts towards the chaotic frenzy of grindcore, although the ten new songs are geared towards live performances, so they weren't composed by eight-armed machines.
Brutality, speed, technical flourishes, and dissonant elements come together in tracks like the opening "Devious Ontogeny," where vocalist Emre included a Tuvano-Mongolian throat singing introduction, or the fifth track, "Nebulae Dominate," brimming with speed, technique, and brutality, or "Accretion Divine," which features a guest vocal from Czech singer Daniela "Dahlien" Neumanová.
This new work is dominated by raw and violent death metal compositions such as "Stream of Consciousness" or the intricate instrumental "Dark Hemispheres," with its more complex and experimental sections. However, what predominates in the recording are rhythms of pure speed and fury, without neglecting some dissonant elements. and progressive elements like in “Apoapsis & Death.”

That said, ABSOLUTISM in 2025 haven't gotten too bogged down in intricate progressive ideas, and the technical flourishes are well condensed in a release whose influences range from MESHUGGAH, VOIVOD, HATE ETERNAL, CEPHALIC CARNAGE, SUFFOCATION, and DYING FETUS. The album “Stream Of Consciousness” was released on June 20, 2025, through the labels Base Record Production, Hecatombe Records, and Ruido Noise Records, and once again features mastering by Rubén Rodríguez at his Neburzone Studios, guaranteeing a high-quality final sound.
