From the very cover of this album, you can get a sense of what it's all about. A monochrome picture of an inverted cross, held by some unseen figure (presumably decked out in mean corpse paint) I mean, already I was prepared to be blown away by the pure hatred dripping from this album.And I was quite pleasantly proven correct. The opening track begins with some man saying, "Hallelujah, Hallelujah!" In a very comical voice and immediately conveys both a sense of disrespect for God and a sense of hilarity as the priest begins making noises that you'd commonly hear in a nursery. Then, an amazing riff tears onto the scene followed by some mean drums and then, in a growl that is pure evil, "I refused... the blood of Jesus!" which serves as a sign, telling you the next 40 or so minutes of your life will be spent in complete Satanic bliss.The rest of the album is similar in sound to the first song and is non-stop mayhem all the way through - although, my favourite song will always be "Refuse the Blood of Jesus". Although some may remark on the production quality of this, or some other aspect that they feel the need to nitpick about, I honestly think this is one of the finest black metal albums to have EVER been produced, and it serves as a testament to Armagedda's brief but brutal appearance on the black metal scene.In totality, this album is a carefully crafted masterpiece, loaded with aggression and hatred and an absolute must have for any black metal lover.
