Black vinyl Comes with two stickers, one Audiopain and one Thesyre.
Two of the world's best black/thrash bands come together to deliver a powerful split 7" EP. Includes full-color printed inner sleeve and sticker from each band.
Horns Forward / The Enemy Abroad is an assault of two no-nonsense, straightforward metal bands. Audiopain does it with purely Thrash metal, Thesyre adds a blackened, old school touch to it. Both bands offer one track only but this sort of release will only serve as an introduction for the newbies and collector's item for the fans anyway.Audiopain are first, with the track "Horns Forward". Primitive thrash is the name of the game and the eighties were of big influence on these Norwegians. Their sound is best described as a less epic and compressed version of the Blood Fire Death era of Bathory, slowed down a tad. Unfortunately the garage/amateur sound is a little too amateurish for my taste. This genre where inconsistent songs with a couple of lesser riffs don't matter that much as long as the vibe and the "we don't give a fuck"-attitude is present, but it is overall too weak to convince. Then it is up to Thesyre with "The Enemy Abroad", a blackened thrash assault. No complex songwriting here, but a straight-forward simplistic song with thrashy riffs, raw vocals and a garage-y sound. Some of the riffs could have been done with a little more thought, other riffs are great as they are (the last riffs is surprisingly melodic but very good all the same). Though, putting too much thought into your music in this genre could be a fatal step all the same, as it's the raw and spontaneous atmosphere that is the charm of the genre. There's no real reason to get this 7", unless you're a manic fan or collector. Or if you have a couple of spare bucks and like to buy something cool to frame in and put on your wall. If you're into first wave primitive and dirty thrash these bands shall fulfill your needs.
