She thought she'd had enough experience with how to finish the day. The last few months had been crazy. First, the zombie apocalypse. The Third World War was as destructive as it was bacteriological. The damned politicians gave the green light to the creation of a certain macabre organism. The problem was that it went wrong, and instead of exterminating it, it made the dead rise with a craving to eat brains. Of course, when such a situation arose, she soon saw people she loved die or have to be murdered. Finally, and as expected in the eternal fight against the rotten, food shortages also arrived. And there she was, in that chaos, desperate to find something to eat. While she was searching for preserves in a destroyed supermarket, she didn't notice that a group of undead spotted her. They quickly surrounded her. They devoured and dismembered her in just two minutes, although to her it seemed like an eternity...Welcome to the universe of Genital Cannibalism. On November 13, 2023, Base Record Production released the first full-length album by the Death Grind band Canibalismo Genital. The title of the aforementioned album is none other than "Dismembered But Happy."The band's lineup is: Pablo (bass), Serch (drums), Max (guitar), Chuck (vocals).Don't be fooled by their darkly humorous titles. The full-length in question is musically convincing. So much so that, for me, not even their excessive lyrical banter can bring it down. We're looking at a whopping 18 wild tracks packed with big, killer twists and turns that will chill your blood while shattering your neck. Where I do have to find fault is with the cover art. It doesn't clash with the lyrical flavor, but I'm not convinced at all by its casual gore. I can't say anything bad about the production. The sound is just right, raw and organic. The incisive and brutal "axes" will dismember you without mercy. You'll enjoy both fast and fluid riffs and heavy and powerful ones. Of course, the lashings of tremolo picking couldn't be missed. The vocals are varied. We have everything from deep growls to high, raspy guttural notes, as well as occasional inclusions of clean vocals and clean punk choruses. By the way, for my part, I would have left out the clear registers, but hey, it is what it is…There's no fooling around with the bass on "Me cortete la polla y la smacké contra el cristal de una cuna" and "Testicles de demolición."As you can probably imagine, the percussion leans toward speed. Hold on tight, because Serch will blow your brains out with his blasts and incendiary uptempos.I highly recommend 'I Skipped Lockdown to Shit on Your Doormat', 'Suffocated by Men's Breasts', 'I Had No Thing to Strangle You With, So I Used My Colon as a Rope', and 'Dead Shitting'.If you're into radical "noise," you won't be disappointed with the Catalan band's latest.
