Cryptopsy is a well-known brutal and technical death band from Canada and in 1996, they released their second full-length released called None So Vile and I'm about to ramble on about this fantastic album. I remember listening to this album for the first time, I was immediately blown away by its brutality and overall sound.

To start off with my review, I will talk about my favourite part of this album, the guitar work. The riffs on this album gives you this brutal, evil and even scary feeling but also manages to keep you interested and satisfied. One small thing I like about some of the composure is the melody in some riffs. It makes the riffs more interesting. I'd say that this album has some great production and sound considering it was released in '96. I'm very satisfied with the guitar work's production and impressed with its composure. I also have to mention the bass work. I should talk about the bass work more, especially on albums like this. The bass blends in perfectly with the guitars while still being very audible and makes it interesting like with the bass solo on the track "Slit Your Guts". Even though the composition makes the album sound scary, it still manages to add some groove in and they manage to do it perfectly. And there's no way I can talk about this album's groove without talking about the drums.

The drumming on this album was some major inspiration to me as a drummer. The drums on this album are really fast, technical and on time. Its double pedal speed is constant and insanely fast. It's insane how Flo is just doing single strokes and manages to not only get to such speed, but also keep it up. The production makes the drums sound amazing, That snare's sound scratches that small itch in my brain, it's not like I'm unsatisfied with this album anyway. Almost every part of the kit is pretty audible when played, especially the bass drum, snare drum and cymbals.

There is one thing about this album you just can't ignore and that is the vocals. The vocals on this album really add to its brutality and heaviness with Dan's amazing technique and vocal sound. It blends in with the evil sound of the guitars and the fast but groovy drumming. Flo's backing vocals are also very brilliant. The vocals are also constant and have this aggressive sound for the entire album, it's very impressive. The way Flo and Lord Worm blend each others vocals to add to the album's brutality.

In conclusion, I love this album. There isn't a problem this album has and definitely deserves its place as one of my favourite brutal/technical death metal albums of all time.
