Darkwoods My Betrothed "Witch-Hunts" CD

Descripción "This is not Darkwoods My Betrothed ..." was my first thought, and my second " ... but this is nevertheless great ..."
"Shall we begin ...", well, Darkwoods My Betrothed drastically changed their style. On their first two albums (which I like both, "Heirs Of The Northstar" and especially "Autumn Roars Thunder") they played Pagan Metal with a lot of clean vocals etc., but all that has gone now. The band is now reduced to a two-man-piece. Before they didn’t use pseudonyms but now they use them as well as corpsepaint, though I must admit that the pics inside the booklet are very good, too. The music is Black Metal with dark screaming vox and with a lot of "nice" keyboard melodies which are really haunting. I don’t know how to compare it to any band, although their kind of music obviously isn’t too new, but they play it in a very good way, and I would prefer this CD compared to the new Dimmu Borgir-album for example, as it is not as predictable or meaningless as that album (or the tracks I heard yet ...), no this CD really has a lot of feeling which is quite important in Black Metal, I guess. The production is also really good, though the acoustic parts are bit quiet compared to the rest, but you can hear everything and it is not over-produced. Give this CD a try and listen to it and then buy it, you won’t be disappointed ... because it seems to me as if they are the best Finish band in the moment. " ... burn, witches, burn!"
