2022 physical release jewel case pro-CD. A second album of ominous and twisted Death MetalRedesigned 8-page booklet with all lyrics. Limited edition 500 copies.
Frozen Screams Imprint continues on a storm path of frigid destruction to further spread East Coast death metal with the second full-length album from DEAD AND DRIPPING, returning to the label after 2020's crushing debut LP "Profane Verses of Murderous Rhetoric" (FSI-005). This new record is 40 minutes of weird, oozing absurdity on another level entirely.
(Vonlughlio returns to NCS with a review and recommendation of the second album by the New Jersey brutal death metal band Dead and Dripping, which was released in mid-May of this year.) It’s been a long time without yours truly doing a small review, mainly due to work commitments and family time in this pandemic-infested world. If you are reading this, I hope you and your loved ones are well. This time around I have the opportunity to write about the solo BDM project Dead and Dripping from the multi-instrumentalist Evan Daniele. I became aware of this project back in 2017 when they re-released their demo Disillusioned by Excessive Human Consumption, which I believe is back in the Dominican Republic with other CDs I could not take with me when I moved to US. Last year saw the release of the debut album Profane Verses of Murderous Rhetoric, which we reviewed here at NCS, and that release made it to my list of top 2020 BDM albums. This project shows how talented Mr. Daniele, with the best part being his ability to realize his vision of what BDM should sound like, with no compromise whatsoever. The demo and first album are a perfect examples of this, and while they are BDM I can hear some Death Metal elements in the song structures that are beyond the usual in BDM. The announcement of a sophomore full-length was an exciting development. I immediately enjoyed the song titles and the unique cover art, which isn’t typical of BDM; at first glance of the ghastly but intriguing cover art (by Noizevul) you would think it’s a Death Metal band outside the BDM genre. This album represents a natural progression from the debut album, with even more Death Metal elements mixed into the compositions, and that has allowed the project to grow into something quite special. This time the eight songs clock in around 44 minutes of pure gore and sickness. One thing that remains the same is a natural production that works rather well, allowing each instrument to play an intricate role for the overall product. The expanded amalgam of Death Metal influences creates a new spin to the sound, crafting something that feels like a broadening of the project and a willingness to try new things in the future while maintaining the core of the original sounds. So if you have the chance, please give this project a chance, as I believe in Mr. Daniele’s talent to create something that will stand the test of time. I hope the music gets more recognition in the future and gains more fans around the world.
