Tracks 1-5 "Terrible Ceremonic" Demo
Tracks 6-16 "Total Shit" Demo

I probably never heard of Prosector, because the band existed only in the second half of the eighties and left behind only two demos. Just enough to be reissued on a CD – which Leszek and Thrashing Madness Productions undertook. Because they somehow disappeared, covered in the dust of history and didn't make it like other Szczecin bands. Heck, life messed some of them up pretty badly – so much so that supposedly the band's vocalist was simply homeless in Szczecin for a few years. On the other hand, Jacek Gniecicki later apprenticed in Quo Vadis during their best period, so it was different. But let's get back to the music. The two demos included on this compilation are "Total Shit" from 1987 and "Terrible Ceremonic" from 1988, respectively. Of course, Lechu included them starting with the newer one, which I really don't like. So I'll describe them starting with the older one. In general, Prosector moved in a rather simple thrash metal. On the first demo, you can omnipresently feel the inspirations of the first two Slayer albums, but also Dark Angel or a bit more crossover ride in the style of Cryptic Slaughter. It is obvious that the sound of this material is not impressive, but I can't say that I hear shit there. Nooo, it's quite okay actually. Polish lyrics, primitive and naive in metal style - today they make you smile a little, but oh well - it's only metal and not fucking Grechuta Marek. Surprisingly, musically this demo defends itself - most probably because a lot of riffs are stolen from Araya's crew, hehe... The only thing that pisses me off is the ending - a Christmas carol or remakes of Modern Talking and "Kalinka" - I don't know for sure, but the guys were clearly in a good mood when they recorded it. The “Terrible Ceremonic” demo, released a year later, only differs in terms of production – it’s a bit better, the compositions themselves may be more mature, but they still stick to the classic thrash metal. And it’s shorter. Prosector is a good listen – at least once in a while. And Leszek has another didactic success, because I’ve never heard of this band before. Like most reissues – there are a lot of photos inside, and an interview, this time by Irek Woszczyk. Plus poster reprints and scans from zines. It’s just a shame about the new cover – I’d dream of those editions with classic reprints, even if the covers were shitty, it had some flavor. Okay, so probably half of Szczecin’s old guard will buy this reissue, so in this case I can rest assured that Lech’s print run will go down.
