Starting out with some odd sounds, the intro that is, which is hard to describe, so I wont. After the intro dies the guitars and drums come pounding in, with fury and hate. The overall sound and feel just screams Kult Fucking Metal. The guitar sound is pretty fuzzy, but still audible, maintaining a raw evil production. As far as the riffs are concerned, they are pretty similiar to bands of the same type but does manage to be some what original and interestingly entertaining.
The second song is a bit slower with a very medium paced chugging riff, that is comparable to bands such as Judas Iscariot. When the song picks up they go to a very cool thrashy almost old school Bathory or even maybe a little closer to a Carpathian Forest sound. Nearing the end of the song they go into a very melodic riff, that uses thick distortion over a rythm ( I know how typical) but then break into a weird part were the drums rise in the mix and create a very chaotic overall sound. This is definitely one of the albums high lights, clocking in at 8:44 its grim fucking epic hatred.
Defalaction of Psychopathia, (a very cool song title I might add) is a very thrashy song while still retaining all elements which make it Black Metal. Its got a very jumpy rythm, and the riff at about 2:30 is just fucking killer. When the song goes to a much faster tempo, they play a riff which reminds me of a riff off of Pure Holocaust. After a bit of repetition, they go into a very chaotic, overly distorted, high end chord picking that slowly picks up tempo into some blasting, fills and rolls. Repetition helps build the atmosphere, but this is definitely great music, so it doesnt get boring.
Not sure what the song titles about, Solus Pro Icendio Vitae, but none the less the song still rules. Very fast speed picking opens up the song with an old school riff that is drenched in a badass guitar distortion. Drums are pretty standard, except in a few prety unremberable parts, yet great too. There is an awesome clean vocal part at about 3:15 that is very similiar to mythologically themed Black Metal bands (Viking Metal). Overall another badass tune. Some cool harmonies are throwen in nearing the 7:00 minute mark, that are followed by a very killer bass tone,..as it slowly fades out.
Winter Fog, chanting opens with an acoustic guitar playing a strumed chord riff, and a tamborine keeps beat. It then builds and fades into the guitar picking a riff with an effect of some sort in the background, very cool. As the third riff enters at 3:30, the overall tone of the acoustic shines nicely.
Straight back into grim sounding fucking metal (Damned Forest). The lyrics dont really make sense to me in this song," But the moon of this dimension is so cursed that brings damnation", things like that. Not the best track on here but a decent one.
7.Nebula. Weird sounding synth tones open this with a clean guitar playing some chords over it. Whispers are spoken over the music, and over it has a very dark airy feeling to it. Slowly fading out and then on to the next song...
Eighth and final track, Pierced Genitalia, a cover originally by Carpathina Forest. It begins with, yet again... odd effects final the gaps I guess. When they get into the song, and this is a fucking awesome cover, the bands overall sound just shines forth in all its evilness.
Overall I'd say a damn good album. Put out on ISO666Releases, this is some kult metal from Greece. Is worth checking out. Also the layout of the album is very cool.
