Catalan band Lux Divina offer us their third album. The band, led by Norax, immerses themselves in a magical world with a highly elaborate work where atmosphere and feeling go hand in hand.
Musically, Lux Divina explores very melodic terrain with powerful and sad riffs featuring great solos, acoustic tracks, and rich compositions. A predominant feature on the album are Norax's clean vocals, which are often interspersed with the aggressive voice typical of Black Metal.
Lux Divina has expanded their musical richness even further. We can't speak of a single genre in particular, as Pagan and Black metal merge in perfect harmony, but I even sense a certain progressive air in their music, with Post Black Metal entering the scene.
On the album, we find a wide range of dark sounds, with hints of doom, shoegaze, folk, pagan, and, above all, the black metal that has always characterized them. For this reason and more, Lux Divina cannot be categorized into any specific genre, as their extensive repertoire is so vast that talking about a single style is misleading.
There is no doubt that this is a great work with many details that will require listening to several times to rediscover the greatness that Lux Divina offer us in this "Walk Within the Riddle."
The album consists of eight tracks plus a bonus track, each lasting almost an hour. Long tracks averaging 7 minutes, good production, and a good presentation make the album a great appetizer for this winter. Sadness, melancholy, and feeling merge perfectly in this work!
