Death Metal band from Slovenia that was formed in 2004. Some of their earlier demos have more of a Thrash/Death Metal sound, while their newer releases have gravitated more towards technical Death Metal.

GONOBA is a Thrash / Death Metal band from Slovenia. The band started back in 2004
and has undergone some changes over the years. They have got a lot more technical sounding as they perfected their sound. The bands name GONOBA means "doom" or "bane" in the Slovenia language. Their sound has a more modern Thrash Metal sound with some slight influences of old school Thrash thrown into the mix. The bands sound has a mixture of Bay Area Thrash Metal with German Thrash Metal. This comes mostly because of the crunchy guitar sound they have. The Death Metal influences come into play in the faster parts and especially through the drum sound. Their Death metal influences tend to lean more towards the Swedish Death Metal sound. This could be because of the technical style they have. The vocals are done in a mid ranged Thrash Metal scream / yelling style with some lower Death Metal growls and screams mixed in. These guys are killer and definitely deserve a lot more attention then they get. If you were to blend together IN FLAMES, DARK TRANQUILITY, THE HAUNTED, ENTOMBED, KREATOR, EXODUS, TESTAMENT & DESTRUCTION all together, the end result would be GONOBA! Just buy this already!
