Never previously released material on CD A real Oldschool Thrash Metal clasic 89' With additional 4 bonus tracks large amount of illustrations (20 pages!) and liner notes.

I return to the depths of the Thrashing Madness Production label excavations, where I found another gem of the Polish underground. It is the reissue of the debut album of the Gdynia band Hektor, entitled The Inner Dementia and originally released in 1989 by MiL Records.
Delving into the history, it is impossible not to be surprised by the fact that the band did not record any demo before their debut, and immediately jumped into the deep end to lay traces for a full-length at Primrose Lane Studio. The album was handled by no one but Adam Toczko, who you may know from producing for bands such as Flapjack, Acid Drinkers, Sweet Noise, Illusion, Kobong or even Monika Brodka and O.N.A. Although the material was subjected to new mastering before its release, I am still impressed by its sound. The Inner Dementia sounds powerful by Polish standards of the time and I dare say that few could compete with this sound. What's more, you can hear that everything is refined, the quite extensive material is rich in surprising parts, overdubs, which at that time could not be generally experienced by the "competition".
The musical style of the band Hektor can definitely be summed up by the term thrash metal, it is the main engine driving the compositions. Fast, uncompromising and wild thrash metal, worthy of the adjective "Polish" because our thrash was the wildest at that time. Alongside a huge dose of this branch of extreme music, we hear small, obligatory inclinations to death metal. There are accelerations and a few riffs characteristic of this genre. However, what draws the most attention are quite direct references to the epic period of the band Celtic Frost. The musicians made no secret of their inspiration from Tom G. Warrior's music, and to be honest, this is exactly what distinguishes Hektor from other bands on our scene. Honestly, I haven't heard anywhere else such aptly and creatively made songs in this style, and at the same time original enough not to be picky about plagiarism.
As a bonus, four compositions taken from the album and remixed by the band's bassist Gabriel "Gabryś" Białobrzewski were added. To be honest, the new versions don't add much to the whole, and the new mix isn't better enough to really go into detail about it, and I'll still put it on the basic tracklist of The Inner Dementia.
Yes, Thrashing Madness has hit my taste again. This reissue has been "running" on the market for a good few years now, but for those who missed it or postponed buying it, it's worth reminding. Despite such a strong album, Hektor did not make a career, but he left behind a very cool souvenir that every self-respecting maniac of underground sounds should know.
