"save yourself, kill yourself" first demo of the black metal band called deathweaver
Last September 2024, the first demo by the Spanish Black Metal band Deathweaver, titled "Save Yourself, Kill Yourself," was released.
Deathweaver's lineup consists of a man of the same name, who handles all instruments and vocals.
"Save Yourself, Kill Yourself" consists of three songs and a total duration of ten minutes, in which Deathweaver immerses us on a short but intense journey through the rawest, most 90s Black Metal. From its first track, which gives the album its title, through "Leave Me Alone" to "Dead Souls," we encounter violent, repetitive, and hypnotic riffs based on tremolos and apocalyptic melodies blacker than the night, accompanied on a few occasions by slower moments where the atmosphere takes center stage. All of this is wrapped in a raw production with the perfect touch of grime, giving the 90s vibe I mentioned earlier a feel throughout the album.
As for the rhythm section, it's mostly executed with blastbeats and blistering speed, with the exception of a few sections in the title track.
The vocal register is a completely aggressive shriek, perfectly in tune with everything contributed by the instrumentation.
In short, Deathweaver is highly recommended for fans of the wildest black metal, in the vein of the most black metal era of Darkthrone or early Gorgoroth. Don't miss it.
