Cult demo 1985.
Limited to 100 copies on black tape.

Oh men, here we have a demo that made history! This is the very first Necrodeath demo. This first effort is made up of four songs in pure black/thrash style. It is useless to say how this demo was (and still is) important for the scene in Italy and not only. In this tape we have some of the most violent songs ever written by an Italian band in that period. If Bulldozer were a bit more “Motorhead” in their style, Necrodeath were pure insane brutal thrash with black feelings.
Let’s think about the possible influences in those years: Kreator, Slayer, Venom, Possessed and so on…well, Necrodeath successfully mixed all those influences with a personal way of playing, creating songs that still nowadays are regarded as cults. The violence of the first track “(Necro)thrashing Death” is unbelievable. The group is incredibly dynamic and fast, even if he’s very young. The thrash/speed influences can be found in the guitar parts but their distortion is already from another world. The screams are directly from hell and a hit like “Iconoclast” (re-recorded for Mater Of All Evil album) cannot be overlooked; 8:30 minutes of obscure violence.
In this gem called “The Shining Pentagram” there is also the great “Mater Tenebrarum”, here a bit different from the same song in their first album. It begins with the bells sound and some sounds of wind to create a gloomy atmosphere. Also the lyrics change a bit when a growly voice says words in Latin. Simply scary. The lead guitar as intro for “Morbid Mayhem”, supported by laughs similar to the witches’ ones, is surely one of the most obscure things ever done in Italy in that period.
This demo is incredible and shows in some parts how would have been their first album. This is total black madness. Listen to this one and you’ll see Necrodeath opening the gates of hell for you…give your soul to the Mater Tenebrarum.
