Necrodeific Slaughter is a band about which it’s hard to find much information — enigmatic, secretive, yet remarkably convincing in their delivery. They hail from Canada and immediately reveal themselves as devoted followers of old-school death metal — the raw, filthy, and brutal kind that reeks of the ’90s and rotting flesh. So far, they have only one release to their name — a mini-album that saw the light of day in 2025. Thanks to Morbid Chapel Records, the EP also landed in my hands… and I have to admit, from the very first listen it was hard to pull away. This isn’t just another underground shot into the void — it’s a recording that pulls you in like a swamp and leaves a mark. In the following part of the text, you’ll find a full review of „Ripping Flesh” — a record that may be short, but it hits with the force of a full-length album.

There are albums that not only remind you of the golden age of death metal but also violently drag you back into a world of reeking catacombs, bloodstained autopsy tables, and sounds that seem to ooze from cracked, bone-filled cavities. That’s exactly what Necrodeific Slaughter delivers — a duo from Edmonton, Canada, whose debut EP „Ripping Flesh” throws the listener straight back into a time when death metal was dirty, abrasive, and almost physically repulsive. There’s no room for subtlety here — from the very first seconds, it’s clear that this is a band raised on the classics: Autopsy, Mortician, early Cannibal Corpse. But they deliver it all in an unusually intense, almost hallucinatory form. Necrodeific Slaughter is musical carrion that makes no attempt to please — and that’s exactly what makes it authentic. What at first might sound like “just another filthy EP” turns out, on closer listen, to be a meticulously crafted vivisection of the entire death metal ethos. Within this short but intense sonic session lies more than just noise and growls — there’s atmosphere, conviction, and, paradoxically, soul. A very rotten one. „Ripping Flesh” is for those who aren’t looking for novelty, innovation, or sterile, clinically polished production. This is an EP for fans of death metal in its most repulsive, raw, and archaic form — the kind of people who have Relapse and Wild Rags tapes on their shelves, early Mortician CDs, and the stale stench of the garage forever burned into memory. This is not a record to play in the background. This is twenty minutes of death that wants to crush you, bite you, and spit you out. And it does that very, very well.
