Black / pagan/ symphonic metal
Neoheresy - Oblawa, delivers pagan folk music in a very creative and expansive manner in which it captivates the listener with a feeling of an age long ago!Neoheresy was brought into being in the year 2012. After recording the last material named Hellveto “Damnaretis”, it is time for a stylistic evolution resulting in the change of the project’s name. The Music conception of the Neoheresy horde is directed towards monumental Black Metal with the influence of ancient folk and symphonic music as well as the lyrical, vocal part, and live drums. Some types of electric and acoustic guitars, keyboards, synths and ethnical instruments are being used in this project. The Music Neoheresy has an emotional and hegemonic overtone due to the solo character of the performance.
Neoheresy are a solo project from Poland that has been featured before in this zine and plays a pagan form of black metal with folk and symphonic elements and this is a review of his 2017 album "Oblawa" which was released by Elegy Records. Symphonic and epic sounds start off the album along with some clean yet distorted guitars and spoken word parts along with choirs are also used briefly and after the intro the music goes into more of a heavier and melodic musical direction while also keeping all of the elements from the intro and the guitar leads also use a great amount of melody. When vocals are added onto the recording they are mostly grim black metal screams and you can also hear all of the musical instruments that are present on this recording and when acoustic guitars are utilized they add elements of folk music into the songs and ethnic instruments are also used at times and when guitar leads are used they are done in a very melodic fashion and all of the songs stick to either a slow or mid paced musical direction and the last track is very long and epic in length. Neoheresy creates a style of pagan/black metal on this recording that is more different than most bands of this genre while also keeping the symphonic and folk elements of previous releases, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics are written in Polish and cover paganism themes. In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Neoheresy and if you are a fan of pagan/black metal, you should check out this album.
