Ildjarn "Ildjarn" Cassette

Descripción After the dissolution of Thou Shalt Suffer, Vidar Våer recorded and released four cassette demos between 1992 and 1994: Unknown Truths, Seven Harmonies of Unknown Truths, Ildjarn, and Minnesjord. Powerful in their own right, these recordings found Våer, operating under the moniker “The Unknown,” still refining his sound and identity. In 1995, he founded Norse-League Productions for his first CD releases, the demo compilation Det Frysende Nordariket and the self-titled full-length Ildjarn.Recorded entirely on a cassette four-track, Ildjarn retains a crude, uncompromising lo-fi character. The drums, often mistaken for programmed, are a snapping pulse buried beneath necrotic guitars and snarling vocals. Across 27 short tracks that often end abruptly, Ildjarn delivers a relentless, unbroken current of scorn.Taken individually, the songs can feel static and inhuman. Experienced as a whole, the shifting matrix of sounds and tempos reveals the singular vision behind Ildjarn.
