Octinomos is a rather unheard-of act, even in cult metal circles. The one man project of Puissance co-founder Frederik Söderlund, the style displayed on all three albums is that of epic 2nd-wave Swedish black metal, inflected with tones of scourging hatred and vitriolic anti-human lyrical spew. Concept aside, the sound is very epic, with sharp, cutting riffs displays great attention to melodic detail as they attack the listener as well as uplift them, only to strike them down again with abrupt changes formed by shifting drum styles and chord changes. Speaking of the drums, Söderlund did a great job programming on this, a speedy, if somewhat overzealous (see, Anaal Nathrakh, etc...fucking hyperblasts all the goddamn time...just makes the music that much more vicious and hateful, though, when combined with the substantial riffing and excellent, upfront production values). The bass and snare drums click away as panned crashes escort the listener off to war against their own race...total downfall and nuclear devastation are on order, and Octinomos is providing these dishes, served cold for your enjoyment. If uranium bombs sounded like this, I'd be all for 'em! Bring the annihilation on!
