A duo like this was coming, and it doesn't surprise me considering the speed at which things are happening in the Chilean underground scene. Bands like PERVERSOR and ISTENGOAT have been massacring Christians with their insane and "pandemonic" Death Metal. Today we have them in a work that presents them united under the auspices of the sound of death.
Almost ten years ago, PERVERSOR unexpectedly caught my attention with the unexpected release of their debut album, Cult Of Destruction (Hell's Headbangers 2008), becoming one of the first Chilean bands to be released by the North American label. Why do I say this? Well, back then, this band was a very hidden studio project that had little desire to hit the stage. Today, despite having played in different parts of the country, PERVERSOR continues to remain hidden and off the radar of most metalheads, but not so much for those who follow the dark path of Death Metal. Good for them for keeping a low profile!
On the other hand, ISTENGOAT, formed in Santiago in 2011, are another of those acts born with the vitality and clear vision to execute a "black," thick, and bloody sound. And they did a good job. Several of their foundations come from another band called BELLUM.
On Perverso Dios Chivo, each band presents four tracks that leave the palate infested with hatred. Showcasing their best current repertoire, both PERVERSOR and ISTENGOAT complement each other on a chaotic and dizzying journey to destruction.
The former continue to showcase their acidic and bestial sound, full of insane riffs and with little intention of filling it with guitar solos or brilliant embellishments. The artillery of this act is unleashed with Abominación, Cacotopía, Cloaca, and ends with Pandemonic.
ISTENGOAT also appears fresher than ever. After their full-length debut (Atlas Shrugged, Apocalyptic Prod 2014), this quartet hadn't released any album until now. Their sound rattles the speakers with a power comparable to DEICIDE's old albums. Fast, dirty, and scavenging Death Metal, full of that vicious, stinging air we love so much.
The tracks included are Rintrah, Leviathan, NNVH, and Ransomwave.
In short, one could say that this split CD meets all the expectations that fans of this dark path could expect.
It will surely be released in other formats as well, so stay tuned!
