Entartung "Krypteia" CD

Descripción World Terror Committee Productions from the depths of Germany is an underground label pur sang, often releasing top of the cream black metal albums. Like no other the label has got the talent and especially the nerve to discover, sign and of course release new acts. However, often those bands are already firmly rooted in the scene, think of Ascension for example.
Entartung not seems to be different. There’s no information whatsoever available of this band, apart from the short info text written on the label’s site. The two members of the band seem to have earned their stripes some time ago, which most probably explain the old school vibe running through “Krypteia”. The six lengthy songs have got a classic nineties vibe and are quite influenced by the Finish scene. “Über die Grenzen des Todes” could be straight from Satanic Warmaster and Sargeist never seems to be far away as well. The vocals are quite inspired by Varg Vikernes and the Burzum vibe is also present in the slower parts of “Der Sieg der Vergänglichkeit”. The big difference with bands such as Satanic Warmaster is: Entartung can hold your attention for the full session. There’s no weak song on this record and all songs are very distinctive. Most the time “Krypteia” is fast, but a lot of slower and more atmospheric parts are hidden to be discovered as well. Final track “Wenn die Jagd beginnt (Christenverfolgung)” shows an unexpected twist as it’s a long heroic song with some clean choir vocals and is highly influenced by Bathory (or Demonaz for the Nuclear Blast youngsters). The sound on “Krypteia” is cold, clearly enough to hear all details but way not too polished.
Entartung sticks to the essential when it comes to black metal. No fuss, no trends and no bullshitting around, just simple music that gets under your skin. “Krypteia” is an excellent debut album that deserves your attention.
