Descripción Almost four years passed before SCENERY from Mohelnice honored us with the successor to their debut "The Drowning Shadow Of Mankind", on which they performed as an instrumentally pumped-up thrash-death hit, which is certainly not alien to the legacy of greats such as CYNIC, ATHEIST or Chuldiner's funeral DEATH. Unfortunately, bands of a more technical nature do not always have it easy in our country. The recording thus traveled among the music-loving nation only at their own expense, without the support of some handy "label" and, as you can see, even a novelty does not have an easier path to the listener.
Well, let's be glad that similar records are even released in our country. It's such modern quixoticism, but all the more sympathetic, of course. The "decenter" and "flatter" sound from the home studio must also be attributed to the related lack of finances; on the other hand, you can enjoy the escapades of individual instruments in that purity. And you definitely won't be bored. From the welcoming acoustic guitars that scatter the stopwatches of the opening "Changes Pt. I", through the instrumental "Temple Of The Sun" to the final "The Message Of Light". We register a new reinforcement in the form of the roaring Petr in the ranks of "Scenery". In addition to the microphone, he also manages the keyboards, but their function here is only in occasional backing, more like a small bonus, nothing too substantial. The melodic magic lies with the guitar and subjectively I still feel that a greater richness of the arrangements would benefit the recording. For the sake of sound fullness. I would forgive myself for too many rhythmic twists, which in some songs seem distracting and thus create the impression of a significant fragmentation of the material. At the same time, the sixth in the series "We Can..." has the ideal amount of ingredients and, although it is lurking in Chuck's own territory, it works great (the bass is magical!). Small freckles on the beauty, however, cannot affect the result and in the case of SCENERY, it is of course very good.
A must for lovers of technically imaginative music and thoughtful lyrics. True, getting to this recording will be a little more difficult for each individual than visiting the nearest CD store, but the subsequent joy and satisfaction from listening will be all the greater. Despite adversity, it is the fate of the strong to turn both faces to the storm and persevere. Do not doubt at all that the people of Mohelnice have strength to give. After all, judge by your own listening.
