The record Funeral Senerade, from the band Sextrash, is very underrated by some metalheads, even tho it's more technical and better recorded than its precursor Sexual Carnage. Also, it gave Sextrash a modern death metal and unique sound, since it has more solos, drum beats and technical riffs, which differs from the first record, that most of the time uses angry blastbeats and death-thrash riffs, just like Sarcofago.
The album is almost perfect, the harmony between the guitars and their distorsions mixed with great drum techniques and blastbeats, combined with a nice change of the tempo and the brutal vocals of Pussy Ripper (band's vocalist at the time) makes the album one of the best death metal albums from Brazil. The recording was also good, since there was a nice masterization of the instruments, making the sound more clean even with all distortions. It might be wrong to say that the record was ahead of its time, since it really mixed up with the death metal scene at the time, but it was able to teach many bands on how death metal is done. All of this can be seen at the third track "Bizarre", where you can have a good taste of all fast, angry, brutal, technical and sexy death metal.
In the Brazilian underground scenario, this album made Sextrash's influence bigger, beeing praised and mentioned by many magazines and record stores. Some would even say it's one of the best death metal albums in history, wich is a little bit exaggerated, but the album is still one of the best Brazilian death metal albums that you will see. Even tho they were praised during that time, the album became a little bit forgotten and even underrated by some, it also became rare to find physical copies of it because of that. For those that are great fans of death metal, this album should be talked about more often.
In summary, the album Funeral Senerade is not only Sextrash's best album, but it's also one of the best death metal albums you can hear. All of this was possible because of a better recording and very well made riffs and solos, not forgetting to mention the usage of more instruments such as the keyboard, wich gave a nice atmosphere. Because of this album, Sextrash can be considered one of the best Brazilian death metal bands.
