Storhet Av Morke "Grandeur Of Eternal Cold" CD Digipack (Bonustrack)

Storhet av Morke is a one-man Russian Black metal act, and Grandeur of Eternal Cold is his first release. The man behind this act goes under the moniker of Morbid and of course handles all the instruments; I have to say his work is quite impressive. Perfectly apocalyptic, with enough attention to the guitars, drums, and vocals – there is even audible bass. There are enough dynamics to the riffs, and drum work that while when singled out are just a cut above average but when all meshed together to from a vicious sound, rather demanding of attention.
This is a full-length and the majority of the tracks here are short, sharp, and in your face, although included in the track listing and eating up over 10 minutes of the album's running time is an instrumental "atmospheric" outro. To be honest I've found it ridiculously pointless, especially with the kickass CD bonus track after it. The album would have been served better on the whole without this 10-minute plus "atmospheric" garbage, if Morbid wants to do that shit he should mix it into the tracks.
On the whole the rest of the tracks are quality, furious black metal; with decent riffage, blasting drums and Morbid's rather good rasps. I've heard a lot worse from one-man bands, and I'd actually recommend this to black metal fans because it's pretty good.
