This album is dedicated to Pazuzu.
Tracks 1 & 2 are taken from the "Austrian Black Metal Syndicate: Norici Obscura Pars" Compilation, released in 1995.
Trifixion is strange fruit indeed. "The First and the Last Commandment" is the first and only album from Trifixion which is a band made up of two Austrians who were, at the time, boyfriend and girlfriend. The male half of the band calls himself Trifixion of the Horned God, the female Yog Sothoth. The music is downright odd and not your typical black metal for several reasons. Most notable are the vocals, which are very over-the-top and an exaggerated black metal rasp that sometimes comes off as a tad comedic that hurts the seriousness this album is trying to convey. The music itself is actually pretty interesting. It has a dark, almost werewolf type of sound to it - definitely not your typical Austrian black metal guitar work. The drums are well represented in the mix, and while they are sloppy at times, I don't think that is something that should really be frowned upon given the raw nature of this record. The occasional keyboard is present although not overbearing and it helps add to the atmosphere of the album.
I researched this CD a lot before buying it and quickly realized that just about everyone who heard this album strongly disliked it. I bought it anyway because I collect Lethal Records albums, but I can easily see why people do not like this and I would probably not recommend this to anyone because it is not a necessary album nor is it an album that would provide repeat listens to most people. It is a unique and very odd album that you should definitely try to hear before you buy.
