2025 Full Album Released by Black Death Production Label
second full length album of Polish horde. Over 40 minutes of blasphemous Black Metal. Album available as limited to 500 copies CD
Oh, how I was enchanted by this new Trwoga! Triumphus Mortis is a monumental, yet still raw manifesto of Polish black metal – closer in terms of its sultry aura to Plenio than to the majestic power of Deus Mortem. To some, this aesthetic may seem less radical, to others – all the more appealing. But is it even worth applying a carbon copy of the aforementioned bands to the Bydgoszcz horde? Of course not. It is an individual, powerful project that does not need any comparisons as such. Trwoga debuted in 2019 with an album simply titled Trwoga – a recording full of primal, garage wildness, which already revealed that these musicians not only feel black metal, but actually breathe it. However, their latest work is a different beast – more mature, more sophisticated, full of non-obvious solutions. The production has gained depth, the riffs have become more hypnotic, and the compositions – surprisingly multidimensional. “Podół” appears here as a true song of the damned, a hymn of filthy catharsis that bores into the mind and does not let itself be forgotten. On the other hand, “Siew zarazy” hypnotizes with its epic keyboards.
The album’s lyrics are also of a high standard – although for someone who has waded through hours of Manbryne or In Twilight’s Embrace, this will no longer be unfamiliar territory. And yet, it is impossible to deny the band’s ability to build a narrative and mood. This atmosphere – sultry, full of existential fear and nihilism – perfectly harmonizes with Voortifer’s charisma. His vocals are not just an instrument, they are a manifesto – they wheeze, hiss and spit sulfur like a beast in spasms of final perdition.
Is this black metal for everyone? Definitely not. Trwoga doesn't try to be extreme orthodox, it doesn't strive for the ascetic severity of true black metal, but it doesn't fall into pompous artistry either (if you want to know what I mean, reach for the latest Furia). Instead, we get music that is coherent, honest and filled with authentic, unexaggerated darkness. In a time when many artists dress themselves in the feathers of "truthfulness", Trwoga doesn't have to prove anything. Their sounds and words speak for themselves.
