Oh! Wened and his friends started a new band – Exsanguinare. I don't know which one it is, but since I received the CD for review, I should write something."Blades of Darkness" is less than 22 minutes of simple black metal. Each track has one extended riff that is the main theme, to which the guys throw faster and slower jerks to change the course of the given drum a bit. Then the drums come in, which sound like they're made of a few cardboard boxes and plates, but that's definitely a plus. After all, we're talking about basement aberrations that are supposed to pay homage to the beginnings of black art. It's no coincidence that there's a cover of Venom's "In League with Satan" at the end, which, oh my, took me back to the Stone Age. I don't even know what those drums are doing there... And everything here seems to be playing and buzzing, and it's great that it's old school and all, but damn, half an hour has passed and I've forgotten what this record was even about. So I turn it on for the second, third and fourth time and it's still the same... There's nothing here that would make me remember this EP in any way. Okay, we've got this spooky cover, but the rest? It sounds more like some loose jams by a bunch of buddies in a basement, not some full-fledged material. And it's not like I don't like Wened's or Vargnatt's (the vocalist here) projects and I just fuck around for the sake of fucking around. I just know they're capable of recording something much better. Because this is so, um...
