CD Limited to 500 Copies Black Metal From GreeceAasgard are a band from Greece that plays a very fast and raw form of black metal and this is a review of their 2014 album "Morbid Celestial Desecration" which was released by Vacula Productions. A very fast, raw and old school black metal sound starts off the album along with some blast beats and high pitched screams and they also use of good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts as well as utilizing a great amount of tremolo picking and you can also hear some clean playing in their music at times. You can hear a great amount of anger in their music along with some depressive riffing and vocals being utilized at times and as the album progresses you can also hear elements of thrash in their guitar riffing along with the vocals getting more deep and grim in certain sections of the recording. The band sticks mostly to an early 90's style of black metal while also adding a great amount of diversity throughout the recording and they only use a small amount of guitar leads and on some of the later tracks you can hear some melodic pagan vocals being utilized in the background and they become the music sound very epic along with some chanting, on one of the alter tracks the band brings in a slow riff that reminds me of early Beherit and the last 2 tracks show the band adding in nature sounds into their grim style of black metal. Aasgard plays a very raw and old school style of black metal but with a more diverse approach to this genre and they also make every song sound different from each other , the production has a very dark, raw and old school feeling, while the lyrics cover Paganism, Hate, War and Dark Passions. In my opinion Aasgard are a very great sounding raw and diverse old school black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Beliefs of Native Gods" :The Art Of Paganism" and "Frozen Wind Above the Tomb".
