The smoke following the explosion was slowly dissipating. The tank ran out of ammunition in the process, becoming a useless pile of metal. With luck, the droid would have been destroyed, or at least seriously damaged. If not, the rebellion's days were numbered. When the mist partially cleared, the hellish machine was still standing. The insurgents' hearts stopped for a second before they began screaming and firing their last remaining ammunition. The robot was quick to counterattack. It began running and punching anything that moved. The crunching sound of skulls shattering filled the souls of those still standing with terror…Welcome to the universe of Teratoma. On October 17, 2022, Base Record Production and Blood Fire Death will release the third album by death metallers Teratoma. The album will be titled "Chaosmakers."The band's current lineup is: Titopsy (vocals), Juanjo (guitar), Juanma (guitar), Xose (bass), Sergi (drums).Without in any way disparaging their previous works, I can safely say that the Catalans have written the best album of their career to date. On second thought, this is as high as it is bad, because for their next album, they've raised the bar so high that it's going to be difficult to surpass or match what they achieved on "Chaosmakers." However, something tells me the future will be even brighter than their present. And if not, just wait and see. With every note that comes out of Juanjo and Juanma's six-string guitar, the stench of decay and mental unhealthiness is, to say the least, impressive. The riffs tend toward speed and fluidity, with attacks of tremolo picking, the occasional harmonic, and occasional but present double harmonies. The solos may not be a technical display, but they manage to move even the most experienced musicians.Titopsy is in full swing. He seamlessly blends predominantly cavernous growls with anecdotal, high-pitched gutturals strummed with very good manners.Xose shines on 'Chaosmakers' and 'Enforcer State'. His bass lines will rip you to the core and then rip your guts out in a heap. You've been warned. As for Sergi... for the love of Odin, this man loves to put his foot down. It's a pleasure to see how he handles himself behind his drum kit. By the way, this time I think they've found the perfect drum kit sound.Tracks to highlight? Honestly, except for the opening track 'The Upcoming End', I really liked the rest. What a great album!Beloved followers and readers of Broken Tomb, buying the album I've mentioned today is a must. Without a doubt, for this humble editor, it is one of the best plastics of 2022.
