Mortigena ‎"The Grotesque Lucifer" CD

10 track 2019 full length from the Mexican death metal overlords.

The band was formed in the late 90s as a death metal band by Milton and Nekron both in the guitar sections, alongside with Noel in drums, Galia in the keys and Victor in the Bass/Vocal department.
Mortigena’s first release “Death’s Caress” was well received and the band gained some notoriety, opening several important acts for cult bands such as Cenotaph, Under Moonlight Sadness, Transmetal, Luzbel, A.N.I.M.A.L. to name a few, and playing in some of the most important cities of the north of México.
At the second release “The Grotesque Lucifer” the band parted ways with Victor and Galia, who were replaced by new members in the Vocals and Bass and a session Keyboardist. The band continued to play in some important gigs with bands such as Disgorge (Mex) and Buried Dreams.
After a couple of years the band was dissolved, the former members engaged themselves in other musical acts such as Denigrare, UmbraE, Z.Attica, but little they know, that more than a decade after, fate will take its toll on them.
Was after almost 15 years since the release of “Death’s Caress” that the band decided to join forces again, and after a few months of jamming new ideas were born (or should we say, re-born?), new tunes took form and that was it, Mortigena was back.
The fand re-formed itself from the very core, as a dark allegory of one of their lyrics, the stage was set, and the time was marked, Mortigena entered the studio to record their third release: “The Faith of the Wicked”.
