Lastwar, another great band that disappeared in the depths of our metal underground in the mid-90s. This crew from Wągrowiec played a very coherent, energetic and stuffed with good riffs dose of thrash metal in the style of old Slayer, and they did it damn well. It is great to listen to it and with an enormous desire to repeat it. The demo "Skazani na Zagładę", which I am reminding you of today, was recorded in 1990 (only three years after the band was founded) in the ARP studio in Szczecin. As for a demo tape, it was characterized by a noticeably refined and, for the available conditions, clear sound. No wonder, the care of the material was entrusted to an experienced sound engineer, Artur Bursakowski, who professionally handled the subject. Despite their lack of experience, the group carved out a really solid piece of thrash metal art in two days (it is worth mentioning the passion with which they played Death's "Evil Dead", huge respect, gentlemen!). Thanks to these recordings, the band made its presence known on the underground scene and had the chance to play alongside such aces as Vader, Pandemonium, Christ Agony, Betrayer and Turbo. Among others, thanks to this demo and the subsequent promo 91' (included here as one of the bonuses, really good material, but terribly muddy in quality, as if the band was playing in a closed room and the recording was made outside of it), the band was interested in Carnage Records, which later released their next demo "Darkness in Eden". Without beating around the bush, I will say that I consider Lastwar to be one of our better, and unfortunately somewhat forgotten, thrash crews ever formed. A very promising band, playing according to The classics of the genre, but with an incredible passion for the subject and a sense of humor, the guys knew what they were doing and what they were best at. There was "that something" in it that inexplicably attracted and captured attention. It's a great pity that this group, for various reasons, both the lack of a publisher, simple bad luck, which so willingly accompanied many bands at that time, and private matters, did not continue their activity. Nevertheless, they left a specific legacy, from which, thanks not only to old releases, but also reissues made by Thrashing Madness, we can fully enjoy and listen to this excellent, sonic lashing
