Odroerir "Das Erbe Unserer Ahnen" CD

Back in the day, let me tell you from the old days, ODROERIR were a regular subscriber to the ass-bombing genre of (at the time) still quality Rock Hard. Their somewhat shallow blend of metal and folk raised eyebrows in terms of execution and professionalism. A particular highlight was the comparison of the shawms to the farts of Uwe "Buffo" Schnädelbach.
Despite these dire predictions, I could definitely relate to the Thuringian band. Due to their originality, I found the quaint "Lasst euch sagen aus alten Tagen..." and "Götterlieder" to be quite interesting alternatives to their colleagues, who at the time were more focused on pagan (black) metal.

Instead of Götterlieder III, here comes...
Seven years have actually passed since the last sign of life from Fix and his extras. "Götterlieder II" was released in 2010 via Einheit Produktionen. "Das Erbe unserer Ahnen," which, by the way, is explicitly not "Götterlieder III," although the press information hints at its release, continues the band's previous focus on acoustic and folk music. Blast beats, harsh electric guitars, or screaming vocals won't be found on "Das Erbe unserer Ahnen." Instead, percussion, Jew's harps, historical instruments, and choirs take center stage and dominate the album.
The record, produced entirely by frontman Fix, is predominantly an acoustic album. Much of it is uniform, relaxed, and radio-play-like. Only "Phol Ende Uuodan" stands out, a rather dark and powerful piece carried by a female voice and a choir.
ODROERIR – coming of age…
One could almost say that with "Das Erbe unserer Ahnen" (The Heritage of Our Ancestors), ODROERIR are releasing their coming-of-age album. The record feels settled, well-thought-out, and mature. Certainly, the album isn't revolutionary or a deliberate turn-up in times when most bands are committed to the maxim "faster, higher, more extreme."
In this context, the album is more of a delicate miniature with a clear mood. Before considering a purchase, the interested listener should examine the following teaser.
