STRONGHOLD & ACT OF HATE Presents With Pride: Old Leshy / Frosty Torment / Hatefrost Split 7″EPSplit CD „United By Brotherly Blood” - Split of three Polish black metal hordes released on CD format. The album includes 3 songs of cold, aggressive black metal in a very underground style. Limited 500 copies!
Some time has passed since the release of this split, which first appeared as a 7″EP in cooperation between Stronghold and Act of Hate Records (limited to 250 copies), then as a CD under the banner of Werewolf Promotion."Zjednoczeni Braterską Krwią" brings us one song each of three Polish black metal projects, decorated with an (excellent) introduction in the form of an instrumental "Intro", which introduces us to the right atmosphere, cold, underground, black metal.Old Leshy starts the fun and even if I wanted to be objective, when faced with the work of the Warsaw project, I can't for the life of me. I simply swallow everything without a drink and it is no different in the case of "Zgliszcza Słowiańskiej Wiary". If someone has had contact with earlier OL recordings, they know what to expect. Old Leshy does not fall below a certain (very high) level. Atmospheric and cold black metal of the highest order, a continuation of what we got on the brilliant debut "Pośród Monumentalnych Szczytów". I declare myself a die-hard fan of the project and each subsequent release gives me goosebumps. That's all on the subject. Hail Old Leshy!Frosty Torment appears second and I must admit that the song "Zimowa Twierdza Honoru" blew me away. Musically, Frosty Torment is very similar to Old Leshy, with the difference that FT's proposal is slightly more aggressive than its predecessor, both musically and lyrically. I probably don't have to add that the mysterious Frosty Torment perfectly suits my musical tastes. It's just a shame that the song lasts less than four minutes, but my appetite for more music has been greatly irritated. The third in line is Hatefrost. The song "Awake!" It differs from its predecessors in almost everything, it is longer, it is "sung" in English and sounds a bit clearer, which does not mean that it reeks of sweetness. Quite the opposite, aggressive vocals, strongly forward percussion and sometimes lively fragments make Hatefrost diversify the release and perfectly fasten this very successful split. The whole thing ends with the instrumental "Outro", as excellent as the opening of the album.A few words of summary at the end. The split is great, proving to the unbelievers (are there any?) that the Polish black metal underground is doing great and is in top form. The only downside to this split is its duration, but there is nothing to complain about. As the crows caw, Old Leshy is working on new material, which is to be released in the spring as a split with the phenomenal Beyond Time, and I am already rubbing my hands and waiting for this release.
