Pagan Winter "The Cult Of Flesh" CD

It is probably a good idea that this album is just over 21 minutes long. If it were any longer, one would most likely become bored. The thing I've noticed about this cd is that unlike most raw black metal bands, between songs there is no time for rest. Each song starts right after the previous one has ended causing a constant flow of raw sweetness. There is no hesitation or delay between songs. The riffs on this album have a very black thrash feel to them, but also fast unrelenting riffing. The drums remain very complacent and in constant motion. There are a couple tracks in which the pace slows down a bit, but not enough to give you a break. Also, the cover they do of Darkthrone's Under A Funeral Moon is absolutely grim. What is unique about their cover of this song is that they step the song up about two notches as far as speed goes. In other words, it is faster than the original. I gave this cd a 95% because if it were any longer it would most likely become boring. If you are a fiend for raw black metal, this is definitely for you.
