Bay Area-style Thrash Metal from a cult obscure 80s US band. R.I.P.SAW were formed back in 1986 and recorded few but great tunes of …Thrash Metal from an obscure 80s US band. An Evening In Chaos includes brand new recordings and all the old 80s unreleased material, originally produced by Mark Shelton of MANILLA ROAD. Disc 2 is a DVD documentary filmed in Phoenix, Arizona USA for the 25 year RIPSAW reunion. The documentary was presented in independent film festivals. High quality 16 pages booklet and great artwork by artist Kostas Tsiakos, known from his work with WARLORD.

RIPSAW is a Thrash Metal band from the 80's, that split up in the 80's but has recently reformed and released this album, made up of new tracks and original unreleased material from their original era. With a very old school style and sound, this is one for thrash fans.

Opening up with title track "Evening In Chaos", the band kicks things right into action with lots of cool riffs and a cool aggressive vocal. This is quite a heavy track with lots of cool Thrash moments. There's lots of stabbing riffs and the music as a whole is well performed - the band works well together as a unit.

There are lots of cool moments on the album, from "The Tempests" dramatic introduction and spoken word section that gives way to a really heavy overall track, to the slightly more progressively minded "Cry Danger" with clean guitar moments and odd sounding riffs. The song "Bitch" is really reminiscent in sound and playing to early Megadeth material which is awesome. There's also some more humorous material on this album with the tracks "Make You Crazy", and "Drunken Hillbilly Jug Band" which take things in a totally different and funny direction, which lightens up the otherwise more serious tone of the album.

Another track worth talking about is "The Serpentine Deluge of Serendipity" which has lots of precise riffage and a great vocal delivery that has a really cool aggressive sound to it, making this quite a cool track and a standout for showing off the band's sound straight away.

It's very cool to see a band from the 80's come back and continue rocking out, and the new tracks are well performed and produced. The older stuff has been put on the album as is after track 5, which makes it a little more like a compilation than an album but works really well as a way to show people what the band was capable of back in the day compared to the modern day.

This is a cool release, with lots to offer fans of Thrash Metal, with a really old school sound and attitude.
