Saltus "Slavonic Pride" LP Vinyl first press!!

The recordings for the debut album by Slavic black metallers SALTUS date back to 1999. The guys' approach is very interesting in itself. They combine raw, Nordic-inspired black metal with several more ethereal, quieter moments and Slavic folk. However, firstly, the lackluster and tinny production poses a major problem, as do the primitive and overly simple black metal parts, which are simply far too unspectacular. So I'm left with the hope that the only truly good song ('Gates Of Night' – reminiscent of early DISMAL EUPHONY) isn't a flash in the pan, and that the guys will complement their good, original folk influences with equally valid extreme parts.
