Disgorge is one of the most brutal bands to ever walk the steamy rotten paths ov this world, maybe even the most brutal band ever. They have managed to not break up, since Ricky Myers is the only one left from the original line up, that did some sick demo with COGNITIVE LUST OF MUTILATION and since then they speeded up with every single release, and bet the hell outta the world, litterally. This band is fast, technical, Uber-brutal, and they play/kill/torture without mercy. You can feel and taste the way they torment their intruments, using them as ancient torture instruments. If you are not into very very brutal Brutal Death Metal, then you should right now stop reading this, and save your little pathetic ass from eternal grief, and continue listening to them Dixie Chicks, bitch!
This is music for people who enjoy 500.000 breaks in a minute, frenzied tempo changes, that will break your neck if you try to headbang to this band's melodies of death and demise. Although being super-fast, they sometimes slow donw, very very slow, just to jump up again and play with hyper-speed. They got the typical chuggy riffs, cutting through human flesh like an hot knife through butter, they got fast riffs that crush you against the walls of sanity, leaving only mashed brain cells and blood. The impusle of this band won't let you take a break, you will have to listen to the whole release in one piece, 'cause once you started, you can let go the feeling that you actually need this music now, you have become an addict, a forsaken, and Disgorge "Consume the Forsaken" - the preceeder to PARALLELS OF INFINITE TORTURE.
There is not muc changed since CONSUME THE FORSAKEN - the band has kept the speed, the brutality and the technical virtuosity the same, just brought in some more sense, and now the whole album sounds more fetchy, and you can even get into it easy. There are even similarities with CTF - the song "Enthroned Abominations" has a part that sounds exactly likea part in "Consume the Forsaken" - exaclty!!! Ok, it's hard to come up with unique riffs and song structures when every song of Disgorge has at least 500 single and good riffs, so they sometimes might make a similar sounding riff. Nevermind, only die hard fans of them like me would find the same thing out, so you can lay back and enjoy when this troop kicks it hard core!
When you listen to the first minute of "Descending upon Convulsive Devourment". you will get an impression of the chuggy and ice-cold slow riffs that I wrote ealier in this review. The make your head nod slowly, before it then gets straight into killing you with a pack of blast beats and breaks, and then again they come back to the chuggy part. This band will never stop to impress you, since they have started with some pretty good recordings, adn the production was good too, but they made every new release sounding better. My personal favorite is CONSUME THE FORSAKEN, since it is brutal to the bone, and has a good, but old school production - too clean would not be too good, since this is not fucking Nitefish or Iron Maiden. But this release is No. 2 on my fav Disgorge album list, since it has kept the spirit of CTF and evolved into pure fucking dementia. You will not survive this album for sure.
