I've been waiting a while to write this review. I've been listening to the material for a while now, but a deal is a deal. Now I can finally review it. I'm already itching to write, impatiently tapping my feet. And what? And for a good hour I didn't know what to write. But it's that kind of day, you see. It's better to listen than to talk.
"Wędrące Wiatr" is a project in which the commanders-in-chief of Stwórz and Pustota joined forces. This collaboration resulted in five tracks set in the spirit of so-called atmospheric black metal. Enough of the technical details, let's focus on what this wind, blowing between Rabka and Olsztyn, brings us? Above all, a story that begins somewhere, thankfully devoid of the dubious charms of civilization. These just over 41 minutes of music bring with it, above all, unlimited space. It's no wonder, the wind is what it is – free and unfettered by the concrete of the city. And I have a feeling that this album is meant to be, or rather is, a longing for freedom. In this case, associated with folklore, which, while resisting the shackles of 21st-century civilization, still remains true to itself. And that's precisely what—I think—our raging wind is searching for. It finds—that's the most important thing. There's a lot of nostalgia here, but thankfully not a maudlin one. One could criticize this album for not bringing anything new. However, in this case, you can hear that the gentlemen are focusing on the message, not on crumbling the walls of the musical Bastille. In some places, the vocals "fall apart." And that's probably the only thing I'll really nitpick about here. It's a strong debut, and personally, "Wędrące Wiatr" (Wandering Wind) captivated me. I hope the project doesn't end with just one album. You can never have too much of that kind of playing.
The ending was supposed to be different, and it even was for a moment, but on second thought—I screwed up. I have nothing intelligent to write. But it's a day like this, you see. It's better to listen than to talk.
