Formed in Finland in 1992, Autumn Verses is one of the most underrated melodic black metal bands of the '90s. The band released a demo in 1994, catching the attention of the German label Solistitium Records. This led to a record deal and the release of their classic debut album, *Tunes of Disconsolation*, in late 1997. Sometime in the late '90s, the band changed their name to The Dead Beginners and signed a deal with Spikefarm Records. Their second album, *Sinners’ Rebellion*, was released in 2000, followed by a split album with Thyrane in 2001.
