The third of the Ottawa solo project's five albums begins with an absolute smash hit, the magnificent title track "Standing Bloodied And Victorious" – with its sometimes plodding rhythms and looping lyrics, it irresistibly etched itself into the long-term memory. The all-rounder Jo masterfully plays all instruments and is also convincing vocally. The melancholic yet caustic atmosphere, combined with the reverberated, over-the-top vocals, is captivating. An evocative timbre contrasts the desperate shrieks, while voluptuous guitar melodies counterpoint the desperate scenery. Furthermore, the master has a good sense for the right balance between repetitive passages and tempo variations. Kampfar comes to mind because of their heroic vibes; it sounds like a Viking ship unwaveringly forging its way through high waves. The heroic epic is not neglected in this work, and so even fans of Bathory's heroics will find these compositions appealing. Smoothly gliding melodies permeate the songs, which are rolled out elegantly like a carpet and contain no harsh transitions.
